Bastien Léger was born in 1981 in Charleville-Mézières (France). He received his PhD Degree in 2007 from the University of Rennes 1 under the supervision of Professor A. Roucoux (ENSCR) and Dr H. Olivier-Bourbigou (IFP) for his research on the synthesis and the stabilisation of metallic nanoparticles in non aqueous ionic liquids and their application in the hydrogenation of olefinic and aromatic compounds. Then he worked during 2 years as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the UCCS Artois laboratory under the supervision of Professor E. Monflier for the stabilisation of metallic nanoparticles by supramolecular complexes in aqueous phase. In 2009, he became « Maître de Conférences » at the University of Artois in order to work on the synthesis of metallic nanoparticles and their use in heterogeneous catalysis.
