Jean-François HENNINOT was born in Cambrai (North) in 1966. He graduated from The University of Lille (USTL) where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1992 in the field of Infrared spectroscopy in a supersonic jet.
In 1993, he became «Maître de Conférences» at the University of Artois where he set up with Prof. M. Warenghem a group working on new optical devices for telecommunications including optical fibers and liquid crystals. In 1997, he co-discovered spatial optical soliton in liquid crystals. In 2002, he received his Habilitation. His current research interests are mainly in the field of nonlinear optics in organic material. He has played a key role in the understanding of nonlinear optical phenomena in liquid crystal materials. In 2008, he was promoted full professor. His current research interest is in the field of visible spectroscopy of new materials based on metallic and ferroelectric nanoparticles. He is the author of 35 international scientific publications.
