Michel Ferreira est né en 1982 à Liévin (France). Il a obtenu son doctorat de l'Université d'Artois en 2008 à l'UCCS sous la direction du professeur E. Monflier. Au cours de cette thèse, il a étudié le comportement de systèmes hydrosolubles «Phosphine / β-cyclodextrine modifiée» en catalyse organométallique biphasique. Il a ensuite effectué un stage post-doctoral d’un an au sein du groupe Homkat dirigé par le Pr. J.N.H Reek (Université d’Amsterdam), où il a développé, avec J.I. van der Vlugt, de nouveaux catalyseurs pour l’hydroamination asymétrique de substrats biorenouvelables. En 2010 il est devenu «Maître de Conférences» et a intégré l'UCCS où ses recherches se focalisent sur le développement de nouveaux procédés de catalyse homogène biphasique.
