Hervé Bricout was born in Maubeuge (France) in 1969. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Lille I in 1997 under the supervision of Professor A. Mortreux. During his Ph.D., he studied the catalytic properties of homogeneous nickel complexes in isomerization and substitution reactions of allylic compounds.
Then, he reached the L.P.C.I.A., in the research group directed by Professor Eric Monflier, and became «Maître de Conférences » in 1997.
His work in this group deals with biphasic catalysis mediated by metal complexes modified by watersoluble phosphanes, and assisted by cyclodextrins as polyvalent promoters : mass transfer and substrate selectivity enhancement agents but also host molecules able to generate specific catalytic species.
